Device treatments

Softwave is an FDA-approved, non-invasive treatment that lifts the eyebrows, tightens the skin on the neck and submental (under the chin) tissue, and improves facial contours and wrinkles. Sofwave uses next-generation SUPERB Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam technology, designed to minimize recovery time and ensure client comfort throughout the procedure. The unique fractional heating effect created by Sofwave’s ultrasound transmission stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, leading to a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.

How does Sofwave differ from other existing technologies?

Currently, there are various invasive surgical options designed to treat facial lines and wrinkles. However, the demand for non-invasive aesthetic treatments that offer proven effectiveness, safety, and minimal recovery time remains unmet. More aggressive alternatives can damage the skin’s surface, requiring a long healing period and affecting recovery. There is also a higher risk of side effects, including skin damage and discomfort.

Sofwave’s unique technology allows controlled energy delivery to the skin while simultaneously protecting the surface with an integrated cooling system.

How long is a Sofwave treatment?

A Sofwave treatment typically lasts between 60 to 120 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Please note that the numbing agent used at the start of the treatment lasts about 45-60 minutes. The procedure fits well into an active lifestyle at any time of the day.

How many treatments are needed?

The treatment program generally requires 1-2 sessions, depending on the client’s skin condition.

When can I expect to see results?

The collagen renewal process can sometimes take up to 12 weeks, so clients are expected to see continuous improvement over a three-month period following treatment. Clinical studies of Sofwave have shown visible results after just one session.

Are there any side effects from Sofwave treatment?

Sofwave is designed to minimize recovery time and maximize client comfort. Clinical studies have shown that there are no bruising, wounds, or changes in skin pigmentation, and the skin's surface layer is not damaged. In a multi-center clinical trial, no device-related side effects were reported, and no client experienced persistent pain or tenderness that would prevent a return to normal activities.

SylfirmX is a non-surgical, minimally invasive RF microneedling system that is FDA-approved and CE-marked. This innovative device is the world's first and only dual-frequency system ("dual wave") designed for skin rejuvenation, tightening, lifting, scar treatment, and addressing various pigmentary changes.

What areas can be treated with SylfirmX treatment?

Treatment areas include the face, eye area, fine lines and wrinkles, sagging skin, enlarged pores, scars, acne, décolleté, pigmentation, rosacea, redness, telangiectasia, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, neck, double chin, jawline, and body skin. Multiple areas can be treated in a single session.

What is RF microneedling?

RF microneedling is a combination of radiofrequency (RF) and microneedling. The combination works by delivering RF energy to the desired skin layer, creating controlled micro-injuries. These micro-injuries stimulate collagen production.
RF microneedling makes the skin youthful and vibrant. It is used for skin tightening, lifting, scar treatment, as well as addressing wrinkles, enlarged pores, sagging skin, acne scars, and other skin issues.

Is RF microneedling better than traditional microneedling?

Traditional microneedling induces collagen production by creating mechanical damage to the skin. RF microneedling is an advanced technique that combines needling and radiofrequency. It creates deeper, more precise micro-damage to the desired skin layer by transmitting heat using RF energy. As a result, SylfirmX treatment provides more effective and longer-lasting results than traditional microneedling.

What happens during the treatment?

At the beginning of the treatment, a detailed consultation is performed to define the treatment areas. During a single session, multiple areas can be treated. A numbing cream is applied to the skin to make the treatment painless. After the device treatment, a soothing mask is applied to the skin. The skin may appear red and slightly swollen until the next day. It is recommended to avoid sweating, sauna, and makeup on the treatment day. Makeup should be avoided for 24 hours, and sun exposure should be avoided for a week after the treatment.

Are there any contraindications for the treatment?

Contraindications for the treatment include pregnancy and breastfeeding, untreated diabetes, autoimmune diseases, inflammation on the skin, keloid tendency, blood thinners, active herpes, and acute cancer.

The Dermapen™ treatment at Sf-cliniken is an alternative for treating problem areas on the face and body. With Dermapen™, the needle depth can be individually adjusted, and during a single treatment, multiple skin issues can be addressed. Dermapen™ is medically designed and features unique patented properties. The device has a 12-needle treatment head that punctures the skin perpendicularly. When the skin is punctured perpendicularly, controlled trauma is created, which triggers the skin's natural healing process. This positively influences the production of collagen and elastin, while also soothing the skin.

What are the benefits of Dermapen microneedling compared to traditional microneedling rollers?

Compared to traditional microneedling rollers, Dermapen™ causes less trauma and damage to the skin, as well as less pain, swelling, and bleeding. It is a safer and more effective option for skin microneedling.
The disposable needles reduce the risk of inflammation, and the adjustable needle length ensures a personalized treatment. Dermapen™ can be used on both strong and sensitive skin areas, such as around the eyes, lips, and nose.

What happens during the treatment?

During Dermapen™ treatment, a 12-needle treatment head is used for microneedling. The device punctures the skin perpendicularly. The microneedling stimulates collagen production and simultaneously creates tiny channels in the skin. These channels can transport up to 80% more important nutrients into the skin. Microneedling allows ingredients to penetrate deep into the skin's fibroblasts, nourishing the dermis and stem cell layer. As active ingredients are absorbed, the skin recovers, and its renewal process accelerates.

Is the treatment painful?

Dermapen™ uses short needles, so the needling sensation is minimal. However, this also depends on the individual's sensitivity. The trained practitioner always evaluates the needle depth according to the treatment area and skin issue.

What skin concerns is Dermapen treatment suitable for?

Dermapen treatment is suitable for a variety of skin concerns, including aging and sagging skin, wrinkles and fine lines, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, and sun damage. It also helps with blemished skin, stretch marks, and other scars such as acne scars, surgical scars, or burn scars. Additionally, Dermapen can be used for treating premature hair loss.

How does the skin react after the treatment, and when will the effects be visible?

The skin recovers well after the treatment. Redness and slight flaking may occur for 1–2 days after the procedure. The effects of the treatment are visible immediately after the first session. The most long-lasting results will be seen after 4–6 treatments performed once a week. Overall, the skin’s condition improves 6–12 months after treatments when regularly treated with the right home care products.

When should the treatment not be performed?

Dermapen™ is not suitable for skin with active inflammation, herpes, open wounds, rosacea in an inflammatory phase, or skin cancer. The treatment is also not suitable for actinic keratosis, warts, or bacterial and fungal infections.

It is recommended to have a consultation before the treatment. The consultation is conducted at Sf-cliniken to ensure that the lesions to be removed, such as actinic keratosis, seborrheic warts, vascular lesions, and dermatofibromas, are benign. If the lesion requires pathological examination and is relatively large, it is recommended to remove it surgically at Sf-cliniken.

What skin changes can be treated with the Dermapen Cryo device?

The Dermapen Cryo device can effectively treat most skin changes, such as keratoses, freckles, moles, warts, cherry angiomas, and seborrheic warts.

What happens during the treatment?

In the Dermapen Cryo treatment, a precise applicator freezes the benign skin change within seconds. One of the advantages of this treatment is its speed. In addition to speed, the treatment offers precision and comfort. The accuracy of the applicator targets only the treated area, and the goal is to avoid healthy skin. For this reason, the treatment is safe even for areas on the face and around the eyes, although the location of skin changes around the eyes ultimately determines the best removal method.

How does the skin react after Dermapen Cryo treatment, and how long does healing take?

After the treatment, some pain may occur for a few hours. The skin may be red and slightly swollen. A blister will form at the treated site, which will turn into a scab. During the scabbing phase, the treated area can be treated with a designated ointment. The treated area should not be manipulated mechanically by the patient.
Healing takes 1–4 weeks. Intense freezing may result in a depigmented spot on the skin, but permanent scarring is very rare.

Is it common for the skin change to recur after treatment?

The treatment is superficial, so it is possible for the skin change to grow back. In clinical studies, 70–80% of keratoses heal with a single treatment. The healing rate for warts is reported to be 80%, but within six months, at least 20% of warts may recur.

In thermal needling, surface blood vessels on the face are heated using radiofrequency, causing them to disappear from view. The treatment coagulates the blood and closes the vessel. It is highly effective, with approximately 80–100 cm of surface blood vessels removed during a 30-minute treatment session. Typically, the vessel is removed in a single session, but if necessary, the treatment can be repeated after three weeks.
At SF-Cliniken, the treatment is performed by a trained nurse.

Who is the treatment suitable for?

The TC3000 thermal needling treatment is suitable for all skin types. It can treat small blood vessels with a diameter of less than 1 mm, as well as areas that cannot be treated with foam sclerotherapy or laser.

How often should the treatment be done before results are visible?

Typically, the blood vessel is removed in a single session, but if necessary, the treatment can be repeated after three weeks. On average, clients undergo the treatment 1–3 times.
