Cardiac Ultrasound Examination

A cardiac ultrasound examination, also known as echocardiography, is a safe, painless, and reliable method for assessing the structure and function of the heart. The examination is carried out in cooperation with the Heart Center and performed by a professional specialized in cardiac diagnostics.

What is evaluated during a cardiac ultrasound?

Cardiac ultrasound provides detailed information about the heart’s anatomy and performance. The examination allows assessment of, among other things:

  • the heart’s pumping function
  • the size of the heart chambers and atria
  • the function of the heart valves, including possible leakage or narrowing
  • the movement of the heart muscle
  • the condition of the pericardium and any fluid accumulation

The examination provides valuable information for the diagnosis and follow-up of heart diseases.
